I love eyeliner. I wear it every day and it is by far my favourite beauty product. I feel naked without it.
There are a few different types of eyeliner such as kohl pencils, gel liners and liquid liners and they differ slightly from brand to brand.
The liner I use is of the liquid variety as I find this the easiest type to create the precise definition of the 'Cat Eye'. This is the typical look I go for day to day, a thick line on my top lid close to my lashes with a 'winged' flick at the outer corner of my eye. I always opt for the soft, thin brush applicator over the 'felt tip' pen or plastic nib because I find the liner goes on smoother.
I'm forever coming across magazine articles, tutorials and other blog posts on 'How To Create The Perfect 'Cat Eye''. I have read so many different techniques and ways to create this look, but no matter what technique you use, you need practise, patience and a steady hand. I get complimented quite often on my eye makeup, from both men and women, which is always nice to hear, and often asked how I create my look.
This is how I do it...
Eyeshadow always comes before eyeliner! Most days I don't use any but I always opt for the dark smokey look for a night out. This winged line will look just as good with or without an eyeshadow.
Firstly, I make sure there isn't too much on the brush. I start from the inner corner and draw a thin line as close the lashes as possible, and stop at the outer corner. It doesn't have to be neat because I go over it again, just for now, I'm trying to get the liner as close as possible so there are no white gaps in between. I usually draw the line slowly in 3 or 4 strokes, its easier and I have more control like this rather than one constant long line.
Now I decide how think I want the line. I go over my original line to neaten it up. If I decide I want it thicker I build it up by drawing another thin line above, and close the the original, careful not to leave any gaps. I keep doing this until I have the desired thickness.
Then from the outer corner I draw a line creating the flick. The easiest way I can explain how to angle your flick is to draw the line as if you are extending your lower lash line.
From the tip of the flick, I join it up to the top of the line, and fill in any white gaps.
I sometimes line my lower lashes with the liner from the outer corners as well but this isn't necessary.

I love this make up look because you can wear it with anything. Any outfit, any colour, any eyeshadow and it doesn't matter if you are pale skinned or dark skinned, it looks good on everyone.
I always tend to use black, however I do have liquid liners in other colours like blue, green and silver. I also have glitter liquid liners but I don't use them too often.
The eyeliner I use is Rimmel's Glam' Eyes. Its the best one I've ever used and also excellent for the price. I highly recommend this particular liquid liner.

very hot cat eye. I am new to the cat eye look and I have realized that starting small and building your way up to the desired size of the line is the secret.
